"Blauschwarzer Fuchs" was painted by Franz Marc in 1911 and is one of the most famous works of German Expressionism.
It shows a fox in an unusual shade of blue and black standing in front of a coloured background. The figure of the fox is strongly stylised and almost abstractly depicted, which is typical of Marc's expressionism.
