"Blauschwarzer Fuchs" was painted by Franz Marc in 1911 and is one of the most famous works of German Expressionism.

It shows a fox in an unusual shade of blue and black standing in front of a coloured background. The figure of the fox is strongly stylised and almost abstractly depicted, which is typical of Marc's expressionism. Through the use of bold colours and strong contrasts, the painting creates an emotional and mystical atmosphere.

With "Blue-Black Fox" he impressively demonstrates his unique style and his ability to express deep emotions through colour and form.
