Vincent van Gogh's "Flowering Peach Trees" depicts two peach trees in full bloom against a blue sky. The pink and white petals are meticulously painted while the trees themselves are roughly depicted. The impressionistic technique conveys a sense of movement and expresses the beauty of nature. Van Gogh painted "Flowering Peach Trees" in the spring of 1888 in Arles, France, when he was experiencing increasing mental instability. He sought refuge in nature and painted many landscapes, including this series of orchards and blooming trees. Despite his mental health struggles, van Gogh produced some of his most famous works that year, including "Starry Night" and "Café Terrace at Night." "Flowering Peach Trees" is a famous example of van Gogh's ability to combine nature and emotions in a single composition.
