Werner Maier was born 1956 in Munich. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, with Prof. Horst Sauerbruch, Prof. Fridhelm Klein and Prof. Rudi Tröger. Since 1987 freelance artist with exhibitions at home and abroad.

Acquisitions of museums and public collections ( e.g. Albertina Wien, Graphische Sammlung München, Kupferstichkabinett Dresden ).

Teaching assignments in portrait and nude drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich and at technical schools for illustration. Publications of catalogues and textbooks. "Fascination Nude Drawing" 2007, "Fascination Portrait Drawing" 2008, "From Image to Abstraction" 2011, "Flowers in Light" 2012 Christophorus/Englisch Verlag.
